Change the engine lubricating oil irregularly
Under normal circumstances, domestic manufacturers of naturally aspirated engine models require users to change the lubricating oil after driving 5,000 to 15,000 kilometers. For turbocharged engine models, the requirement is to change the oil after driving 5,000 kilometers. If the car is not driven frequently or has been idle for a long time, it is best to change the oil every six months. Of course, if the environment you are in and the quality of the oil are both good, you can appropriately extend the oil change cycle and time.
2. Replace the oil filter element irregularly
The function of the oil filter element is to filter impurities, so it should be replaced together with the engine oil. If not replaced, the engine oil cannot be filtered, which will cause the internal parts of the engine to wear out faster due to impurities in the engine oil.
3. Replace the air filter element irregularly
If the filter element is severely clogged, it will increase the intake resistance and reduce the engine power. At the same time, due to the increase in air resistance, the amount of gasoline sucked in will also increase, resulting in an overly rich mixture ratio. This will deteriorate the engine's operating condition, increase fuel consumption, and also make carbon deposits more likely to form. One should develop the habit of frequently checking the air filter element in daily life.
4. Change the brake fluid irregularly
Brake fluid has a characteristic of absorbing moisture from the air. The brake hydraulic system must allow the brake fluid to communicate with the atmosphere to operate normally. Over time, the brake fluid will absorb moisture and turn into bubbles at high temperatures. When bubbles appear in the brake fluid circuit, the braking efficiency will decline. Therefore, brake fluid should be inspected for its quality and performance in a timely manner based on climate, operating environment, seasonal changes and working conditions, and replaced on time.
It is generally recommended to replace the brake fluid every two years or after driving 50,000 kilometers. When choosing and replacing brake fluid, it is also important to remember that different types and brands of brake fluid should not be mixed. Due to different formulas, mixed brake fluid can cause a decrease in brake fluid indicators.
5. Replace the antifreeze irregularly
If antifreeze is not changed for a long time, its anti-corrosion, anti-rust and anti-scaling functions will be reduced, which may cause cooling system failure or even rusting. Generally speaking, antifreeze should be replaced every 1.5 to 2 years.
The above five car maintenance replacement items may seem to cost a lot of money, but the money is paid to avoid causing major malfunctions and bringing us serious losses. Therefore, regular maintenance is necessary. Doing these is to enable it to serve us better.
